Who we are

LiTr™ is a fuel platform operated by LiTr Technologies (Pvt) Ltd (“LiTr”, “we”, “us”). LiTr lets you buy fuel in litres at today's price, hold it, and redeem it at partner stations. This policy explains what information the LiTr mobile app and website collect, why, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

We collect only what we need to run the service:

• Account & profile. Your mobile number (your primary identifier), name, email address, optional profile photo, and a LiTr user ID.
• Authentication. One-time login codes, passkeys (public-key credentials only — never your biometrics), and, if you choose social sign-in, the account identifier returned by Google, Apple, or Facebook.
• Transactions. Your LiTrPasses, LiTr Credits, purchase and redemption history, amounts, fuel type, and payment references.
• Device & security. A device identifier used to recognise trusted devices, IP address, app version, and basic device details used to prevent fraud and keep your account secure.
• Location. With your permission, your approximate or precise location, used only to show fuel stations near you.
• Contacts. If you choose to send or gift fuel to someone, the recipient you select from your contacts. We do not upload your address book.
• Usage & diagnostics. How you interact with the app and crash/performance data, used to fix problems and improve LiTr.
• Support messages. Messages you send us through in-app support.
• Enterprise account applications. If you apply for a LiTrBusiness account, we collect company registration details, registered address, fleet information, and the name, role, and contact details of the authorised signatory who submits the application.

Payments

Purchases are processed by third-party payment providers (such as EcoCash, InnBucks, and O'Mari) and card networks. We do not collect or store your card number or mobile-money PIN — these are entered directly with the payment provider. We retain only the transaction record (amount, status, and reference) needed to deliver and account for your fuel.

How we use your information

• Create and secure your account and sign you in.
• Process purchases and let you redeem, transfer, gift, or split fuel.
• Show partner stations near you.
• Send transaction confirmations and service messages.
• Prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorised access.
• Provide support and improve the app.
• Meet legal, tax, and regulatory obligations.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run LiTr, under contract and only as needed:

• Payment providers (EcoCash, InnBucks, O'Mari, card processors) to take payment and confirm purchases.
• Partner fuel stations and oil companies to fulfil and reconcile the litres you redeem.
• Cloud, messaging, and notification providers(including Google Firebase and OneSignal) to host data, send notifications, and measure app performance.
• Sign-in providers (Google, Apple, Facebook) if you use social sign-in.
• Authorities where required by law or to protect our users and the service.

Notifications & messages

We send transactional messages (such as login codes and purchase confirmations) needed to operate your account. You can turn off promotional push notifications in your device settings at any time.

How we protect your information

Data is encrypted in transit using industry-standard HTTPS. We support passwordless sign-in, passkeys, and biometric unlock, and we use trusted-device checks to help keep your account secure. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and limit access to it.

How long we keep it

We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service, then for any additional period required for legal, tax, accounting, or fraud-prevention purposes. When no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it.

Your choices & rights

You can access and update your profile in the app. You may request a copy of your data, correction, or deletion by contacting us.

Delete your account: open the app, go to Profile → Delete Account. This permanently deletes your account and associated personal data, subject to records we must keep by law.

Children

LiTr is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

International transfers

We may process and store information on servers located in other countries. Where we transfer information across borders, we take steps to protect it consistent with this policy and applicable law.

Governing law

This policy is governed by the laws of Zimbabwe, including the Cyber and Data Protection Act. We collect what is needed to operate the service, retain it only as long as it is needed, and do not sell it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here and revise the effective date above. Significant changes will be communicated in the app or by other appropriate means.
